We’re a general used bookstore filled to the brim with more than 75,000 books. Since opening on September 1, 2008, we’ve cleaned, inventoried, priced, and shelved over 250,000 different titles. Books continue to arrive daily. Help us find them a new home!
We’re a real brick-and-mortar used bookstore. Nothing beats stopping by the store to chat or to browse.
What You’ll Find
Room after room of used, out-of-print, and antiquarian books.
We Buy Books!
We’re buying books by appointment only. Please call 540-662-6657 to schedule. We offer cash for books we can resell, and home visits are possible for large libraries or special circumstances.
What We Like to Buy
- We look for books in excellent condition.
- Hardcover books issued with a dust jacket should have one.
- Softcovers shouldn’t have spine creases.
- No underlining or highlighting in the text.
- We favor classic and modern literature, local interest, and good mysteries.
- We buy non-fiction and specialized titles. We buy current textbooks.
- Author signed books, first editions, and unique collections are of special interest.
What We Can’t Buy
- Damaged books (including those with underlining or highlighting)
- Most book club editions (including Readers Digest Condensed and book sets received in the mail)
- Outdated computer & software books (including users manuals)
- Outdated travel guides and textbooks
- Serial Romance books (Harlequin, etc.)
- Magazines (unless they’re older than 1900)
Donations
We are happy to accept donated books in good condition. We receive wonderful stock this way and are grateful for your help. If we cannot use your books, we suggest you donate them to the Handley Library or to Blue Ridge Hospice.

Yes, we offer gift cards. Any amount. No expiration. Out of state? Call and we’ll mail ’em.

- Take the VA-622 exit toward Opequon/Winchester (left)
- Turn right at the first stop light (CVS on corner)
- Turn right at the next stop light (Middle Road)
- Turn right into our parking lot
From I-81
- Take I-81 exit 313B
- Merge onto Millwood Ave/US-17 toward Winchester
- Staying in the left lane, veer slightly left to continue on Jubal Early Dr. The Apple Blossom Mall will be on your left.
- Turn left at US-11/Valley Ave
- Turn right at the second stop light (Middle Road)
- Turn right into our parking lot
From Downtown Winchester
- Follow South Braddock Street (50 East / 522 South)
- As you pass Handley High School, Braddock will veer right and become Valley Avenue (US-11 South)
- Turn right at the Middle Road stop light (just past the Dairy Queen)
- Turn right into our parking lot
From the South
- Follow Route 11 North into Winchester
- After passing the Tevis Road stop light, take a left at the second stop light, Middle Road (between Sheetz & DQ)
